THE STONE FOXES UNLEASH NEW VIDEO SINGLE “TIME IS A KILLER” VIA ROCK & BLUES MUSE NEW LP ON THE OTHER SIDE DUE OUT NOVEMBER 18

LISTEN // WATCH: “TIME IS A KILLER”

Just in time for Halloween, San Francisco-based outfit The Stone Foxes, co-founded by brothers Shannon and Spence Koehler, have unleashed their video for “Time Is A Killer,” a blistering new single from their forthcoming LP, On The Other Side, due out on November 18th.

“The Stone Foxes create indie blues/rock music that exists in a unique place that puts their own originality next to influences like Jack White, The Black Keys, and The Black Crowes…they make a glorious, addictive noise that will set both your brain and body in motion,” said Rock & Blues Muse. “Time Is A Killer’ has a lot to say, as do The Stone Foxes. They’re a strong contender for greatness and stand tall when compared to other current rock bands. Both Shannon and Spence push hard to make music that’s meaningful to them and to connect with the world at large.”

Produced by Digital Daruma, LLC and directed by David Dutton, the video features several deadline-driven scenarios where the stakes are high and the players are all trying to beat Time.  Portrayed as a Femme Fatale, Time is outfitted with a blindfold because Time does not discriminate, and consequences are inevitable. And, in this video, Time puts the “dead” in “deadline.”

“We wanted to make an actual movie, with scenes and plot, something fun, action packed, true to the theme of the song, and our director nailed it,” says Shannon. “It’s a thrill-seeking flick about blind justice hunting down five men who are trying to escape their fate. It was a total blast shaving my beard, putting on a frumpy suit, getting blown up, and pretending to be a detective with my brother Spence.  It’s funny, our work dynamic in the movie is eerily similar to our real-life dynamic! It was just a blast to make, working with our great friends who did an amazing job acting and, hopefully, the fun comes across on the screen.”

"Time Is A Killer" features big riffs, thundering beats, and cinematic horns--like early Wu-Tang meets Ennio Morricone. “The lyrical theme came from the idea of Mother Nature being a character – a stone cold killer – which she is. Mother Nature doesn’t play games. Mother Nature will auto-correct our foolishness. And after a certain amount of time, Mother Nature will move on without us if we don’t get wise,” says Shannon.

The song follows “Man’s Red Fire,” inspired by a lyric from The Jungle Book's “I Want To Be Like You.” “I’ve always loved that song and that phrase, and living in California surrounded by wildfires every summer for the past four years, it was stuck in my head,” Shannon said of the song. “The flames are a symbol of power and I couldn’t help but think of this raging fire of racism that’s been burning in our country since its inception. Just looking around, it’s obvious that the civil war isn’t over, so I started writing lyrics with civil war imagery in my head, and putting them together with lyrics that symbolized a quest for power.”

LISTEN: “MAN’S RED FIRE”

On The Other Side will be the first full-length album recorded by Shannon (lead vocals, drums, harmonica,  producer) and Spence (lead guitar, rhythm guitar, pedal steel, bass, producer) in over six years. For the Koehler brothers, On The Other Side is a cinematic western rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack to pull you through when the journey gets rough. The lyrics and sounds reflect Shannon's journey through a second open heart surgery, the brothers’ struggles with anxiety, being grounded by love, and the experience of living in a deeply disturbing America.

It's also an album of many firsts. "It’s the first time Spence and I have been the main songwriters on every track of a release," says Shannon. "It’s the first time I’ve sung lead vocals on every track of a release. It’s the first time I’ve ever written songs on piano that turned into actual songs on an album. It’s the first time Spence has been the main bass player on a full album."

The new single and album announcement coincides with the launch of a new fan club, The Fox Den. Members will receive early access to the album and exclusive demos, listening party invites, and exclusive merch. Members can even have their names listed in the CD liner notes or receive handwritten lyrics from the band. Membership levels begin at $30 and are available at https://www.thestonefoxes.com/the-fox-den. Be sure to follow The Stone Foxes at the links below for the latest news and updates.

CHAYLA HOPE RELEASES VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “FALLING” + DEBUT LIVE PERFORMANCE ON JULY 22

WATCH // LISTEN: “FALLING”

Cleveland-based powerhouse Chayla Hope has unveiled the new video for her latest single “Falling,” an ode to the all-too-familiar feeling of instantly connecting with someone, only to question whether or not to blame it on the alcohol. In the video, directed by Zachariah Durr, Chayla turns the stereotypical music video love narrative on its head. "We wanted to play on people's expectations because, at its core, pop can be subversive and fun,” she explains of the video’s inspiration. “And sometimes that fun looks like a pair of platforms, rhinestone-studded suits, and a puppet devouring a male model whole."

Mixed by 10-time GRAMMY Award winner Josh Gudwin (Bad Bunny, Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa), this dark, intoxicating earworm evokes Chayla’s past as a drag performer. Its strutting groove turns any space into a runway fit for vamping. Chorus.fm, who premiered the track, called it “perfect for fans of Lady Gaga and Dua Lipa.”

“Falling” follows her infectious single “Love In Lo-Fi”; the song’s accompanying music video was directed by JR Strickland with choreography by Nicole Kirkland. "Falling in love will forever remind me of dancing,” says Chayla of the video’s inspiration. “Whether it's with a person, yourself, or your dreams, when you're in it, your pain disappears and you get to enjoy the feeling of being alive." Both singles will appear on her forthcoming debut LP Damn, Feelings, set for release in late 2022.

Chayla Hope is pop’s next great voice. Making a name for herself in Cleveland’s music scene pressing vinyl at Gotta Groove Records and collaborating with up-and-coming producer Jesty Beatz (aka Holy Mattress Money), her sophisticated take on the sounds of the ‘80s and ‘90s recalls the influence of Kate Bush, Whitney Houston, Annie Lennox, and Robyn, marrying inventive arrangements with an impressive range and infectious spirit.

After years spent fronting and singing in alternative rock bands, including Emmy and multiple ADDY award-winning local favorites Seafair, pop is where Chayla was meant to be. “Pop is the music that raised me, the music my mom used to listen to while cleaning the house,” she says on planting her musical flag in the genre. “It’s always been there for me as an anchoring and joyful force. It is me.”

Throughout her life, Chayla has had to overcome obstacles like heartbreak and trauma by dressing up, performing, and powering through by sheer force of her artistic and creative vision. She has long been fascinated by the juxtaposition of happy music masking sad lyrics, exploring the complicated nature of human experience through its most common facet: our feelings.

A proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community who found her performance identity doing drag, it’s no surprise Chayla was selected to sing the theme song for Care Bears: Unlock The Magic and has numerous features in the show’s soundtrack and merchandise, embodying its core themes of empowerment, inclusion, and self-understanding through her music.

Chayla Hope will make her live debut on Friday, July 22nd as a part of Greyt Culture’s Golden Hour concert series in Cleveland. Click HERE for tickets and show information. Be sure to follow her at the links below for the latest news and updates.

“WATER TO THE WELL”

LISTEN | WATCH

PORTLAND, ME – Award-winning singer-songwriter Connor Garvey releases intimate performance video for “Water To The Well,” the second single from his forthcoming album Another End of a Year available July 21, 2022.

“In making the video for [“Water To The Well”] it was really important to me to capture the people I made this record with, who’ve been on this journey with me, IN the space where we worked on the songs, practiced, recorded, mixed, reviewed, and celebrated their completion and first launched them into the world,” shares Connor.  “There are a lot of ways to make a video but to me this captured who made the music and keeps the song as the central part of this experience.”

“Water To The Well” captures the experience and journey of trying to help, heal and progress through the complexity of depression and self-antagonism. Americana Highways notes, “Garvey’s music has an organic quality that slowly unfolds into its messages of hope of human blossoming in the midst of mundanity. The video, taken within the wooden studio walls, reflects the earthiness of the music itself, like the studio was made for this song.”

Connor Garvey is performing a limited special shows throughout the summer to support Another End of a Year with more fall and winter touring to be announced. Release dates below.

ABOUT CONNOR GARVEY

Connor Garvey’s interest in music and writing began at a very young age. Both his parents are educators- his mother an English teacher and his father a songwriter. Growing up in such a musical environment in the artistically rich Northeast, Garvey developed the firm belief that songwriting is a method for bringing community together and a way for people to explore a greater depth within their own lives. His combination of songwriting and performance strength has earned Garvey numerous awards including being named winner of the Kerrville New Folk, Rocky Mountain Folks Fest, SolarFest, Wildflower Art and Music Festival and Maine Songwriters Association songwriting competitions, voted as Most Wanted artist at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, nominated for Best Male Performer in the New England Music Awards, and a top new singer songwriter by Sirius XM's The Coffeehouse. “MIDDLE NAME” VIDEO: WATCH/SHARE

DALLAS/FORT WORTH, TX – Psychedelic, grunge rockers Olive Vox are releasing their latest video for the single “Middle Name” today. The track is featured on their self-title EP released earlier this year.

The creation of singer-songwriter, social media creator/influencer Parker James and his brother guitarist-songwriter Caden Shea, Olive Vox have created a sound well beyond their years with influence of Nirvana, Screaming Trees, Alice In Chains as well as psychedelic influence of veterans Pink Floyd, and more current Ty Segall.

Olive Vox made their live debut in at the 2021 Levitation Festival in Austin, Texas opening for Fuzz. They will continue to tour with new dates announced in Texas beginning today (3/31) at Three Links in Dallas opening for Betcha and Arlie. In April, they will open for PUDDLE OF MUDD as well as a few dates on the Better Strangers tour. Links and details below.

BUZZ

“…a smooth groove machine of a rock ‘n’ roll tune, evoking the gloriously sludgy grunge psychedelia of Screaming Trees, Temple of the Dog and Stone Temple Pilots. Parker’s voice rings out like a young David Gilmour ‘standing by the Nile’ in 1969, while Caden’s guitars purr with the finesse of a freshly refurbished muscle car.” -Dallas Observer

“…a sound that loves to let the distortion pedals go wild and light the feedback ablaze… nailing the thickness and rawness of what makes psych, blues and garage rock really sit well with young and older audiences alike, Olive Vox is showing plenty of promise in its early goings.” -Central Track

“For a couple of teenagers, this is pretty damn heady stuff as Olive Vox will have you thinking while you bang your head against the living room wall.” - Texas Music Monthly

“Though it’s a ridiculously overused quote pulled from a song Pete Townshend wrote for The Who, it’s applicable to say that the kids are, indeed, alright. Those of us who survived the ’90s will hear the familiar grungy warmth on the 5 songs on the band’s self-titled debut EP while Gen Z will be introduced to something that very few new bands are doing.” - The Big Takeover

“…a vintage rock n’ roll sound that’s more advanced and progressive than you’d expect from young musicians just beginning to find their traction.”  - V13

“…the pair effectively blend the thick distorted-guitar assault of Mudhoney with a trippy Ty Segall psychedelia, resulting in a sound that is simultaneously aged and ageless.” – FW Weekly

“…based on their bold sound, combining elements psychedelic and grunge elements to create something totally their own, you'd never guess they were so young.” – Sweety High

Featured on Sirius/XM “Volume West” and SPIN Magazine x Twitch takeover

Olive Vox EP debuted at #17 on Submodern Radio Top 200 Album Chart

Specialty show radio airplay at: Q104.3 NYC, The Edge Buffalo, KROX Austin, The Point St. Louis, 91X San Diego, KJEE Santa Barbara, KRXP Colorado Springs and WCSF Joliet, IL.

HEATHER BOND SHARES VIDEO FOR “THE MIRAGE” PREMIERING ON AUDIOFEMME TODAY!

COLLABORATES WITH VIKTOR KRAUSS FOR SOPHOMORE ALBUM THE MESS WE CREATED OUT FEBRUARY 25

“THE MIRAGE” VIDEO || WATCH

NASHVILLE, TN – Nashville singer/songwriter Heather Bond shares live performance video for “The Mirage” from her forthcoming album The Mess We Created available on all streaming platforms on 2/25/22.

The video features a mostly female band – with the exception of co-writer/producer Viktor Krauss (Lyle Lovett, Bill Frisell, James Taylor, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss) on bass – and is the first video from her visual release of The Mess We Created, out 3/25/22 and currently available for PRE-ORDER.

“What makes the video particularly unique is the way Bond allows each person their moment to shine, the camera capturing each performer’s gifts and the way they light up the room, whether [Melissa] Mattey is grooving to the melody on keys or [Elizabeth] Chan is transfixed on Bond, while [Devonne] Fowlkes and [Emoni]  Wilkins fall into a rhythm with the singer as they sway to the beat in synchronicity… Getting lost in the moment and overtaken by the music was one of Bond’s goals for the video, and it also reflects the ’70s and ’80s influences of her upcoming album, The Mess We Created… - AudioFemme

The Mess We Created is a refreshing, well-crafted, and unique collection featuring first-rate musicians. The songs reveal a maturity gained from years of experience in the music industry. With Krauss as the primarily instrumentalist, along with L.A. drummer Matt Chamberlain (Lorde, Tori Amos) and Jano Rix of The Wood Brothers, the album is vibrant, idiosyncratic, and rooted in rhythm. Each song showcases Bond’s effortlessly agile vocal delivery, shifting from the smooth purity of Sade (in “Resist”) to the cheeky sweetness of Kylie Minogue (in “Ich Weiss Nicht”) to the delicate depth of Parisian singer Keren Ann (in “Fountain of Youth” and “Fate”). The album closes in an energetic punch with the spritely, beat-driven single “Feel It.”

The Mess We Created is set for release on February 25, 2022.

ABOUT HEATHER BOND: Nashville artist Heather Bond makes radiant, cinematic indie-pop laced with elements of disco and R&B. Her lyrics reflect on everything from love, seduction, and heartbreak to social media, nostalgia, and politics, with an easy, modern intelligence enhanced by crystal-clear vocals and crisp harmonies. Her sound is both elegant and eclectic, evoking the breezy clarity of piano-pop artists like Norah Jones and Regina Spektor mixed with the jazzy, experimental range of Fiona Apple. The Mess We Created is her sophomore solo release. She is also part of the Nashville group The Daybreaks.

“GUITAR HERO” (-Billboard) HAMISH ANDERSON DROPS OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “EVERYTHING STARTS AGAIN”

Credit: Emma Gillett

“EVERYTHING STARTS AGAIN” : OFFICIAL VIDEO

LOS ANGELES, CA. – On the heels of his latest single “Everything Starts Again”, Australian “singer, songwriter and guitar hero” (-Billboard) Hamish Anderson dropped the official video with two global media partners – Parade Magazine in the U.S. and Rolling Stone (AU) via Tone Deaf for their Video of the Week!

“Classic aerobics add to the fun and a tongue-in-cheek ending (wait for it!) make this one of the most enjoyable watches and listens so far this year. And, of course, it rocks!” - Parade Magazine

“an ode to fining the positive light in the darkness… the perfect song to get you feeling as refreshed and energised” – Rolling Stone/Tone Deaf (AU)

Regarding the making of the video, Hamish shared with Parade Magazine:

“For the ‘Everything Starts Again’ music video I knew I wanted something bright and colorful to match the song. I stumbled across a video of jazzercise and the BPM of what the dancers were dancing to in this video fit perfectly to the tempo of ‘Everything Starts Again’. It all started to gel. Everyone contributed so much to this video and it really shows the more playful side to my music, which I don’t get to show often.”

“Everything Starts Again” is about sliding doors, or the idea when one thing ends, another begins – a great mantra for the New Year.  An evolution from his signature blues/rock sound, Hamish delves into indie pop/rock beats with a nod towards influences of Badfinger, The Pretenders and Pete Townshend.

“…garnished with tasty guitar interludes and world-weary lyrics…Anderson continues to do right by the guitar gods who went before him.” – Buzzbands LA

“Everything Starts Again” is the follow up to 2021s “Morning Light” single, which marked some firsts in Hamish’s career - first time co-producing with David Davis (Miguel, The War on Drugs, Lauren Ruth Ward), and first time recording remotely in a pandemic.

“Everything Starts Again” showcases the deft guitar skills and musical prowess of an artist that All Things Go aptly states “clearly knows the path from nostalgia to the future.” “Everything Starts Again” is now available on all streaming platforms.

IAMEVE RELEASES THE HAUNTING VIDEO FOR “UNNERVING” +

ANNOUNCES HER EP ARCHETYPE RELEASE

WATCH “UNNERVING”:  HERE

“... if Alice took Ziggy Stardust’s hand and followed him down the rabbit hole to a world guided by the twists and turns of ethereal and colorful vocals.”  -  The Huffington Post

Los Angeles-based artist IAMEVE has released the haunting video for her single “Unnerving,” the second single from forthcoming EP  Archetype, due out this fall.  Produced by Jeremy Dawson (Shiny Toy Guns, MXMS) and IAMEVEthe haunting track is as intimate and tender as it is dark, with a  cinematic combination of electronics, vocal layering, guitars, and strings. “Unnerving” was written three and a half years ago when Tiff Randol the mastermind behind  IAMEVE found out that she was going to be a mother. This news came as climate change became a glaring reality and as Trumpism began to surface with alarming levels of hatred and divisiveness.

“I felt lit up with anxiety about bringing this precious soul into a world that seemed to be on fire, says Randol. “It’s a  really strange feeling to be filled with so much love and happiness while being so angry and afraid, That’s when the lyric ‘I’m gonna make you right’ started repeating in my head - which was confusing, considering I couldn’t find a way to ‘make right’ a lot of the hate I was seeing. Ultimately, we have to be willing to validate another’s perspective if we want them to see ours - even when it’s ‘unnerving.’ It’s something I struggle with daily and this song and video are a direct reflection of that conflict that’s as much inside me, as it is outside in the world. Having a human that I would do anything for has changed everything for me and I feel hopeful  that as a society we will make things right.”

In a black-and-white video directed by Patrick McPheron, nuclear explosions are intercut with a raw,  powerful performance by IAMEVE ending with an incredibly intimate moment with her child, as a  gesture of hope for the future.

With that hope in mind, the new mum co-founded the organization Mamas in Music with London-based songwriter Mary Leay (MK & Becky Hill’s “Piece of Me”). The organization’s primary goal is to provide resources to make it easier, and possible for mamas to thrive in the music industry,  in addition, to shining a light on mama artists. As one of the early initiatives, Mamas in Music, has partnered with Burnside  Distribution and The Orchard to create distribution opportunities exclusive to mama artists,  with IAMEVE’s Archetype as the first release this fall.
